Troop 1: the good, the bad, and the really
weird. From gnarly snowboard dudes to webheads,
this is not your father's Boy Scout Troop! Our home
is Mill Valley, California. We have about 65 Scouts
and about a dozen adult leaders. If you like
hiking, camping, rock climbing, backpacking, all
kinds of outdoor activities in all kinds of
weather, then Boy Scouts in general, and Troop 1 in
particular, is the place you want to be.
Our camping and event program goes year-round.
We do a lot of camping at Camp Tamarancho, an
850-acre camp on Mt. Tamalpais that belongs to the
Marin BSA Council. In the past couple of years,
we've also gone scuba diving in Florida, canoeing
in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota, hiking the
high desert of the Philmont Scout Ranch in New
Mexico, and hiking and camping in Scotland with a
troop of Scottish Scouts.
This web site was written and is maintained by
the webheads of Troop 1 as a service to the troop,
the parents, and anyone who stumbles into our cyber
campsite and is interested in our program. If
you're out surfing the web, feel free to wander
around our cyber campsite or send an e-mail to the current scoutmaster of the troop at scoutmaster@troop1marin.org if you'd like more information.
You are also welcome to come to one of our
weekly meetings and check us out in person. We meet
every Thursday night at 7:30 at Scout Hall, 177
East Blithedale, Mill Valley. Visitors are always
welcome.
Be sure to visit
About Us for an
overview of the kinds of things we do, then go to
our outings page
for details on our outings program. You can also
check out our
calendar to
see what we've planned for the rest of the
year.
