Equipment Checklists

Ever try to turn bacon over a campfire with a plastic fork? It's almost as much fun as limping along the trail on blistered feet because you forgot your moleskin at home.

Use these checklists to be sure you remember the important stuff. Chapter 8 in The Boy Scout Handbook gives excellent tips on equipment and clothing. It's worth your time to read it.

 Scroll through these checklists:

  • Ten essential items to take on any outing
  • Car camping (overnight or summer camp) gear
  • Patrol gear
  • Winter camp

The Ten Essentials: Don't Leave Home Without Them
  • Trail food
  • Water bottle
  • Personal first aid kit
  • Sun screen, including lip balm
  • Extra clothing, like a sweatshirt
  • Rain protection
  • Map & compass
  • Matches & fire starters
  • Pocket knife
  • Flashlight
