Campfire Announcements and Updates Turkey Cookout 2007 The Saturday before Thanksgiving weekend is the weekend that we do Turkey cookout. It's good fun and there is a court of honor there for those of you who earned an achievement. 20 Miler 2007 A group of about 10 scouts took the long hike from Scout Hall to Tamarancho and back, which consisted of about 20 miles or so. On the way to Tamarancho, we got a bit lost so it added an extra 4 miles. First Aid Weekend We had a lot of fun going up to Tamarancho to practice our first aid skills for the first aid meet. We had Peter B. as our SPL and it was an awesome time. First Aid Meet It was an awesome day competing at the First Aid Meet which was called Code Red. Most of our patrols did really well. Wreath Sales 2007 Our yearly fundraiser for our troop is called Wreath Sales. It is where we sell a variety of wreaths, and a lot of garland. This year we are also selling popcorn and one or two othe items. Note, every scout in the troop is required to man at least two shifts selling wreaths. Here is a flyer for Wreath Sales (file is a .pdf). Larkspur Sea Base 2007 We helped get the Larkspur Sea Base in ship shape by swabbing down boats and cleaning up the port. The site has a dock with six sailing and motor boats, half a dozen canoes and a boat house. The sea base will soon be a great place for water sports and learning about water safety. Asst. Scoutmaster Allan Laucke is leading the effort in getting this incredible resource ready. Jackson was the SPL for the weekend.
